A YouTube video entitled "#KathrynStarkey Hypocrite" shows commissioner Starkey engaging in what appears to be blatant hypocrisy. The first section of the video shows commissioner Starkey and former commissioner Schrader blasting commissioner Mariano about giving tours of the Sunwest Park, which was still under construction at the time. Commissioner Starkey can be heard saying, "That is a construction zone! It is not a party place." Former commissioner Schrader adds, "Why is it the responsibility of a commissioner to be giving tours?" He exclaims, "Commissioners shouldn't be giving tours!"
The video then plays a news clip from ABC Action News of Kathryn Starkey helping give a reporter a tour of Sunwest Park, while it was still under construction. Here is the video:
Arguments about the ethics of commissioners giving tours aside - Is this a clear example of a politician holding herself to a different standard than she holds others to? Or is it a simple misunderstanding?
